LED by all-star spiker Deshaun Darlington, GC Foster College finished third at the Defend Ya Spike Volleyball tournament in the Bahamas last weekend.
The reigning Intercollegiate Women's champions finished behind winners International Jammers of the USA and UWI Club in the three-day competition.
Six women's and 10 men's teams participated in the competition.
The GC Foster contingent was headed by athletic director Ventley Brown, and included manager Merlyn Bent, and coach Steve Davis.
"I am very pleased with the performance of the girls," said Brown. "I'm sure if we can keep these girls together as a team for the next four years, they'll be a force to be reckoned with at the club level," he added.
"What is needed for the development of volleyball in Jamaica is more exposure for the players at regional and international levels, which will in turn provide a better collegiate, club, and national programme," Brown pointed out.
Members of team representing GC Foster College were Darlington, Cafellon Fraser, Latoya Headley, Trudy-Ann Fraser, Shantol Carter, Brithney Scott, Khesia Miller-Livingston, Anescka Lewis, Petal Smith, Sasha Hunter, Natasha Willis, and Aneka McPherson.
